Incoming Wire Material Inspection
Raw Material Types: Wire harness production involves a variety of raw materials, including conductors, insulation materials, connectors, and terminals. For example, the conductors used in automotive wiring harnesses must be heat-resistant and oil-resistant; the connector material must meet mechanical strength and electrical performance requirements.
Inspection Details: Verify raw material specifications and models, and inspect for defects; test the electrical properties of the conductors, such as resistance, to ensure they meet standards; test the insertion and removal force and contact resistance of connectors; and verify documentation such as material certification and quality certificates for the raw materials.
Inspection Methods: Measure conductor diameter and connector dimensions with a caliper; measure conductor resistance with a multimeter; test connector insertion and removal force with a dedicated insertion force tester; and analyze metal composition using a spectrum analyzer.
